While rainy, 2026 turned out to be a great growing season especially for my ground cherries (often confused for gooseberries); I had so much I brought them with me to brunch w/the ladies and even discovered them at brunch! This fruit was first introduced to me by my gf Karen who started growing them during the pandemic. I had never really paid much attention to them in the past but once I started growing them, I’ve discovered them everywhere!
This year was also great for beans! We love green beans (especially stir fried or wok fried w/fermented olives and ground pork at Chinese restaurants like Hai Tang Cafe). My basil was also a success but my tomatoes, cucamelons and thyme was just meh. I’m currently letting them all go to seed to keep them for next year! How was your gardening this year?
